1.Google Trends
This is a free tool from Google which is an extremely popular service.What it shows is the popularity graph.It shows over time how much a website is popular.It may not show the exact details.But it does allow you to compare two websites and look at their popularities.

Note:This only works for websites with relatively high traffic.
2.Alexa
Alexa doesn't tell you the exact number of visitors but it does tell you an approximate percentage of visitors worldwide who visit that paricular site.It can be particularly useful as it is pretty accurate.

3.Stat My Web
This website is also very popular for comparing your competitor's website.It provides with complete information about a particular site.It shows Alexa rank,backlinks,website worth,no of visitors and lots more.Definitely worth a try.
4. QuantCast
QuantCast is another service similar to Statmyweb.It too gives an estimate of hits and unique visitors along with visitor demographics.You should give it a try.

5.Compete
Compete is a free service pretty similar to Quantcast.But why it has been ranked at #5 is that it only tells you about the total US traffic.Compete uses data from ISPs, their own toolbar and other data source to calculate the unique visitors and hits (or pageviews) of a site.
