Almost every week,a new blog is started.Now as you can imagine
that its a stiff competition out there.There are nearly 30,000,000 blogs
in the World Wide Web!Now,to make sure that your blog doesn't fall
among the last ones you should follow the following steps:
1.Check Your Number Of Visitors
This is probably the most important as well as the most interesting part of blogging.You should check the number of visitors everyday.The Blogger Analytics isn't very accurate so I would suggest you use Statcounter or Google Analytics to record the data.
Also you can make goals to achieve every month.(For example,I made a goal of 15,000 visitors this month to my blog Techno World and I have already achieved it). These goals also make blogging more interesting so that you don't lose interest in blogging.
2.Number Of Posts Per Month
If you want to gain success quickly you also have to post frequently.For new blogs,atleast 1 or 2 posts per day is mandatory.Gradually,as you gain authority and reputation you can lower your posting frequency but always remember-
Posting Frequency is proportional to number of visitors,which is proportional to money(if you have ads)
3.Alexa Traffic Rank
Alexa rank is also an important factor.Lower the Alexa rank more is your traffic.You can also install the Alexa toolbar and you can see how many sites are linking in and lots more.You can also set goals like getting "XXX "rank within one month.This will keep you motivated and inspired to continue blogging.

4.Submit Your Blog To Search Engines
This is equally important as the other three.You should submit your blog's sitemap to Google,Yahoo and other major search engines.

5.Site Speed
After Google's new Panda change,site speed has become an extremely important aspect of blogging.You should always check your speed when you begin your blog.You have to make sure that your blog is not slow.You can use several tools like Pingdom.

6.Choose The Correct Template
This is also very important thing to do when starting a blog.Choosing the correct SEO optimised template is very important.And if you are confident in HTML then you can easily create your own template,so that shouldn't be a problem for you at all.
