I have been using Amazon for quite some time and I must admit that it is not easy to make money from Amazon.
The main reason is that you need to have a large reader base for that who are even willing to buy amazon products through your links.Secondly,you need to sell a large number of products to make any substantial income from Amazon,simply because their rate is 4%.

Way #1-Gain reader trust
This is the most important of making money from Amazon.If you haven't gained the trust of your readers then its extremely difficult to convice them to buy products from your site.
You can imagine it yourself.You have visited an unknown site and you see a link.Will you really buy any product from that site,even if it is an Amazon product?People only buy products from sites that they know about,that they trust and can rely upon.
So my first tip will be to try and find ways to get your readers to trust you.
Way #2-Sell products relevant to your niche
This is the second most important point to make profits from selling Amazon products.Without following this point,you are bound to fail again and again.Research shows that following this point correctly can increase your sales by 50%.

In this case,you don't review or write anything about the product.You simply provide a relevant link to give your readers a little;e bit of information about that product,and after that you give your Amazon link.
But this tip is only valid for products that are recently launched.If the products have been launched quite some time ago,then move to the next point.
Way #6-Write reviews about the desired product
This is my next point about increasing sales.don't just provide links here and there in your posts.You should only give links to the Amazon products in posts where you are writing reviews about that product.

This is not going to work for all the readers,but only for those who have a high social presence.Suppose you have a lot of friends and followers in Facebook,Twitter and Google+.You should then use them to the best of your ability.
You can use Facebook, twitter and post it for your friends. After they feel like, they will build it.
If you can use it properly,then I am sure that you are going to see a huge increase in the sales of your Amazon products.

Almost all products in Amazon have a listed discount with them.Most books are as much as 30% off recommended retail prices and at different times during the year Amazon runs other special discounts and promotions on different single products or in different product categories.
Take full advantage of that.Tell your readers whenever there is a special discount on any product that you sell.Your readers will also appreciate that and you might be awarded with a few more sales.
Way #9-Use the Buy now button
Amazon has a very useful Buy now button.I highly recommend using this button instead of posting links and images.Why?
The Buy now provides the reader with a lot of information in a small space.It also has an Amazon logo on it,thus increasing the readers' trust.It also shows any special discounts if available.
Way #10-Ad placement
This is perhaps not that important if the reader is reading the whole post.But for those who are always in a rush,this can prove to be pretty effective.
Only add two links in the entire review,one at the top and the other at the bottom.Any more than that and people might get agitated seeing amazon links.Also,note that the links at the bottom convert the most.However,I have tested that the links at the top also convert sometimes.Also,if there is only one link,people might not notice the ad.But with two links of the same product,they are bound to at least have a look.
